How it started
A strong company inside a broken model.
Bottleneck began over two decades ago. We placed remote talent. We sourced. We onboarded. We watched. For most of those years we operated inside the Virtual Assistant model, the same model every company in this space used. Some matches worked. Many didn’t. Founders kept ending up back in the Founder’s Trap.
We tried to do the VA model differently than anyone else, stronger screening, stronger training, stronger support. But the model itself was broken. And after watching it break the same way over and over, we made a decision.
The breaking point
It wasn’t dramatic. It was cumulative.
We saw too many founders hire a VA, train them, watch them leave after five months, and start over. Too many businesses where the founder was still doing admin at 11 PM on Sundays. Too many companies selling cheaper labor and calling it innovation.
So we stopped. We documented every reason the VA model wasn’t working. We built a new system, tested it inside our own business first, trained our team on it, named it, and claimed it. That’s how Delegation Intelligence was born.
