Website Design & Development Welcome Packet

Welcome! We’re Excited to Build Something Great Together

Welcome! We’re Excited to Build Something Great Together

Thank you for choosing Bottleneck to design and develop your new website. While our name is synonymous with administrative excellence through our Dedicated Distant Assistants, you’ve opted into a specialized service: custom website design and development and we’re thrilled to get started.

This packet outlines the scope of your engagement, support policies, billing structure, and available post-launch services. Our goal is to ensure clear expectations from the very beginning so there are no surprises, only progress.

1. Scope of Your Website Project

Your website package includes:

  • Discovery Call to understand your business goals and expectations for this project
  • Review Web Infographic for project scope
  •  You will receive two separate home page design examples to choose from that our designer will base the remaining site on.
  • Submit your brand guidelines; (or, if you are having your branding / logos done designed by the Bottleneck design team), this will be the very beginning of the design phase.
  • Custom website design (based on the four phases):
  • Discovery
  • Design
  • Development
  • Deployment (Site Launch)
  • Development using modern, responsive frameworks
  • Basic SEO setup and page optimization
  • Content population (client-provided or templated w/ ‘Lorem Ipsum’)
  • Launch support, DNS configuration, and QA testing

When the remaining balance of the invoice is received by Bottleneck Distant Assistants, the following occurs:

Migration

Deployment Kit – will include your brand guidelines, login credentials for website and hosting provider along with an initial set of instructions on how to access your site, do some minor updates and how to delete our credentials (if you are not leveraging our Monthly Management Service).

Important: Additional services like branding, copywriting, e-commerce, CRM integration, or membership functionality are not included unless specifically agreed upon in writing.

2. What Happens After the Website Is Delivered

Once your website is designed, developed, tested, and delivered (aka the Deployment Kit), the project is considered complete. At that point, any additional work will fall under Post-Deployment Support, and is billed separately.

What’s Considered Post-Deployment?

Any of the following actions requested after delivery of the final website product will be billed at:

💵 $150/hour (1-hour minimum)

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Website troubleshooting or bug fixes not related to original scope
  • Design or layout changes
  • Adding or editing pages
  • Website hosting or domain updates
  • Content changes or image swaps
  • Plugin installation or custom configuration
  • Answering customer service questions about the site
  • Time spent managing tasks outside of your original agreement

3. Want Ongoing Help? We’ve Got a Plan for That.

We offer an optional Website Monthly Management Plan for just:

$249/month

This plan covers minor updates, plugin management, proactive security monitoring, troubleshooting, and general upkeep. You’ll receive priority support and avoid the $150/hour charges for covered tasks.

The management plan is perfect for clients who:

  • Want peace of mind
  • Plan to make ongoing changes
  • Don’t have an in-house tech team

4. Billing & Payment Terms.

  • A 50% deposit is required to begin design and development.
  • Final 50% is due prior to the site migration from our testing platform to your hosting platform of choice.
  • Any post-launch hourly work is billed monthly and due upon receipt.
  • The monthly management plan is auto-billed and can be canceled anytime.

5. Communication Expectations
