AWIR with Jamie and Sara: Sticking to Your Guns – Planning and Hitting Your Goals

Today’s edition of A Week in Review with Bottleneck Distant Assistants (BNDA), CEO Jaime Jay and COO Sara Knox discuss some ways of setting and hitting your goal. They talk about how to stay on track and how to stay motivated while working. This episode also shows the importance of having a different perspective in order to help yourself in times of frustration and challenges.

Setting Daily Goals and Objectives

Looking back to the past week, Sara and Jamie share their challenges and successes. As today’s topic is about hitting your goals, Jamie advises that if you have a mission, it is important to set daily goals or objectives. Additionally, he says that it is hard to maintain motivation when you’re too focused on the big goal, so it’s good to consider having just two goals daily and do what you want to keep motivated.

“I am a firm believer that if you have daily goals daily objectives and you hit those daily objectives even if you don’t but maybe you secure 50 of them at least you can feel thankful that hey, I did what I wanted to do today.” – Jamie Jay

Getting Back On Track

Sara shares that she struggled a rough week and that she learned a lot from it even though it gave her a hard time. Her friend advised her to talk to someone and get another perspective so, she made a meeting with her counselor that helped her to get back on track. She also expresses how she felt empowered and fantastic after talking to someone.

“This is very obvious, and I already knew this but, it was nice to have it reinforced, and it reminded me of how easy it is to get your focus back and to get a better outlook of what’s happening.” – Sara Knox

Fresh Outlook

Sara and Jamie talk about how a fresh outlook helps, especially when you’re frustrated with doing things over and over. Sara says that having a different perspective on what you do gives you a renewed sense of energy. She thinks that it is highly important, especially when you’re running a business.

To connect it to Jamie’s experience, he expresses how nice it is to have different marketing campaigns. He added that it is what makes the business fun.

“It’s like you’re your own worst enemy. Who’s the biggest roadblock to your success? It’s yourself because you’re so focused on this is how you think things have to be done, and this is what you see. You’re not seeing the forest for the trees because there’s so much more.” – Sara Knox

About Jaime Jay

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He’s a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that’s just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He’s the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book “Quit Repeating Yourself” has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he’s not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress. He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater. He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
