Departmental Delegation with Jaime and Sara | Live with Bottleneck: A Week in Review
On this episode of Live with Bottleneck: A Week In Review, Jaime and Sara talk about the importance of departmental delegation and how it can ease working in general. We will also be talking about the best way to delegate tasks to certain departments, and how department heads are the ones in charge of disseminating information to the rest of the team.
Join Jaime and Sara live every Friday at 10am CT for this special edition of Live with Bottleneck: A Week In Review, as they talk about the week that passed and the challenges that they’ve faced, as well as implementation of things for the future of the company and for the viewers.
Departmental Delegation
Sara talks about delegating to departments, and the department heads will be taking care of disseminating it to the rest of the team so that Jaime as the head of everything, won’t have to micro-manage. Delegating also means empowering these department heads to make decisions on their own.
Jaime says that departmental delegation is about getting the same message across and that it is understood by everyone, and it also means that moving forward, as heads of the company, they won’t have to be in all of the meetings. They won’t also need to give out specific directions, since with departmental delegation they can just take a step back and allow everyone else to do their job.
Departmental delegation is about believing in the people you hire, and trust that they know what they are doing, and that they are awesome at it, they are doing a great job, and that they are growing professionally in their positions.
What Happened This Week?
Sara has been working with Chanelle, straightening out the books, and trying out a new payment system. Wise has been, as Jaime wittingly said, a wise decision, since everyone got their pay quickly, and the fees are easy to deal with. However, they are still struggling with Canadian payments, as US to Canada bank transfers are proving to be a real problem.
Jaime has a great week because he was able to delegate most of the meetings and he didn’t have to be in them, so he was able to do a lot of writing and researching on his own. He was in a couple of meetings for building the new website. They will be launching the automated sales process in June, and both Jaime and Sara are excited for that to happen.
What’s Coming Up?
Jaime has hired the last two positions that the team has been missing, and they are all ready for scalability. They will be adapting a three-pronged approach for June 15, when they will be launching their automated sales process, switching from HubSpot to Go High Level.
They are also creating Bottleneck Academy, a pool of talents which will be trained and certified as distant assistants to recommend to clients. It will be easier to match a distant assistant with a client with the new automated sales process, and Bottleneck will be taking care of training and certification so that clients won’t have to wait long.

About Jaime Jay
Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He’s a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.
Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that’s just the beginning of his many accomplishments.
He’s the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book “Quit Repeating Yourself” has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.
When he’s not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress. He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater. He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier.
