Who is Mark Monchek?
The conversation starts off with Mark mentioning that he looked for prior podcasts Jaime were in, not as a host, but a guest. From here, he discovered that Jaime has had a few disruptions of his own before.
Mark brings this up as it is something that they teach on Opportunity Labs, which is shifting the consciousness from disruption or tragedy, to something that can help you.
“What I learned from your experience is that you took something that looked to be the most tragic situation. Many people would feel like they were a victim in this situation, and you decided, “what is the opportunity here? Pursuing Profit with a Purpose
Mark shares what the pandemic has told us on the current state of capitalism. It has exposed a symptom that shows that there are some things that are not working properly in this current version of capitalism.
So there needs to be a shift in consciousness, so we can find ways to avoid repeating the same mistakes, at the same time continue to push to thrive and profit.

I believe in our American System of helping people go from wherever you were to where you are now with that success – but doing it in a way that actually cares about customers, associates and the communities that we do business in. Shifting the Consciousness while Maintaining Core Values
Mark shares a situation where their clients were faced with a sudden situation that disrupted a major expansion plan. But with the help of Mark and Opportunity Labs, as well as the senior management of said company, they managed to avoid the disruption by shifting into a new perspective.
