How to Be a Top 1% Communicator in Your Industry with Brenden Kumarasamy

In today’s episode of Live with Bottleneck, our guest Brenden Kumarasamy explains how you can be the top 1% communicator in your industry. Being able to communicate properly with your team and your clients is important for maintaining a top-notch business.

Brenden is the founder of MasterTalk. He coaches ambitious executives and entrepreneurs to become the top 1% communicators in their industry. He also has a popular YouTube channel called MasterTalk, with the goal of providing free access to communication tools for everyone in the world.

So if you want to be an effective communicator in your industry, stay tuned to this episode!

Who is Brenden Kumarasamy?

The conversation starts with a bit of an introduction of our guest. Brenden got the idea for his MasterTalk Youtube channel from his university days, where he joined case competitions. Basically, case competitions are presentations done in a competitive manner.

Of course, in order to thrive in such competitions, you have to be an effective communicator, so you can get your points and topics across clearly. Brenden figured that this is also an important trait in business.

“I realized that a lot of people needed this information, but they also couldn’t afford a speech coach. So that’s what led to me making the videos in the first place, that ended up turning into a business.” – Brenden Kumarasamy

How to be a Better Communicator

When asked what people need to do in order to be a better communicator, Brenden shares some things that could help people develop their communication skills.

According to Brenden, the biggest issue with most people’s communication skills is that they don’t practice it. That is because the languaging around communication is really negative.

“When you think of the word “Public Speaking”, you hear the words like “nerves”, “stress”, “boredom”, or all that anxiety that comes with it. So for me, the way I reverse this psychology, because communication is a great thing – something that’s supposed to help people make a difference rather than seeing it as a chore – is asking this question: “How would the world change if we were an exceptional communicator?” – Brenden Kumarasamy

Brenden’s Advice for those Who Want to be a Better Communicator

Brenden further elaborates that it’s understandable why people hesitate to communicate more freely with others. The fear of public speaking is always there, even for the most extroverted individuals out there. For those who want to overcome this hurdle, it helps to have the right mindset going in.

One way of creating a positive mindset on communicating is by focusing on the message you wish to convey to other people. Why are you sharing it in the first place? Why does it matter? The goal is not to eliminate said fear, but to have a greater purpose that can help you overcome it regardless.

About Jaime Jay

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He’s a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that’s just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He’s the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book “Quit Repeating Yourself” has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he’s not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress. He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater. He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
