How to Make Your Book and Brand Shine Online with Melanie Herschorn | Live with Bottleneck

On today’s Live with Bottleneck, our guest Melanie Herschorn talks about how you can make your book and brand shine above the rest online. With more authors and solopreneurs going to the online space, it’s an important skill to learn if you want your book and business to do great in the long run.

Melanie Herschorn wants to make your book and brand sparkle online. As a content marketing strategist for coaches, consultants, and speakers worldwide, she’s on a mission to support and empower her clients to create clear messaging and content that shines a light on their individuality, skillset, and books.

So if you want to pick up some tips and advice on how to make your brand stand out online, stay tuned to this episode.

Who is Melanie Herschorn?

Melanie is a Book Marketing Strategist, which she describes as someone who bridges the gap between publishing and publicity.

“A lot of times, people get really in the weeds about creating their book, and I know because my book is coming out soon to. They often go, “now that my book’s out, I need a publicist.” The publicist would say that they will give you all these great things, but if there’s no online presence or the messaging is confusing, people aren’t going to buy your book because they’re not gonna trust you.” – Melanie Herschorn

That’s where Melanie comes in, to fix the messaging and help establish a proper online presence, so your book reaches its target audience and gain traction in the online space.

Continuity is Important

Jaime brings up the topic of continuity, and that you often see ads on Facebook, and when you click on them, you see that the ad and the website have different color schemes or overall feel to it. This ends up with the website having to re-establish trust all over again.

Melanie agrees, and adds that there must be consistency in everything you do online for your branding.

“I call consistency the ‘granny panties’ of content marketing, because it’s so unsexy, and neither is being consistent online. But it’s so necessary; it is what’s going to take you that distance. It’s constantly showing up with continued messaging and making sure that the messaging is the same here and there that no matter where somebody finds you online, they understand what it is that you do.” – Melanie Herschorn

The Journey is Important

The conversation then turns to book writing, and how sharing the journey of writing the book could also be good for marketing its brand.

Melanie adds that most authors only start promoting their books after it has been written or published. But they could actually start sharing bits and pieces about the thought process of writing parts of the book, just to give your followers and potential readers a feeling of being part of the journey of having this book written. It also raises anticipation for the book, as they are now curious how the parts you have revealed or hinted upon will play out.

About Jaime Jay

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He’s a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that’s just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He’s the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book “Quit Repeating Yourself” has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he’s not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress. He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater. He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
