Jason Byer leads marketing and partnerships for Crowdspring. Jason teaches small business owners how to make better decisions about their branding and positioning.

So if you want to have an idea on how to assess your brand or company’s identity, stay tuned to this episode.

Who is Jason Byer?

Jason does Lead Marketing and Partnerships for Crowdspring, which has been around for over 12 years. They have helped over 65000 businesses of different sizes build their visual brands.

“We do this through 30 categories of branding and design, so we have everything from company and product naming, to logo design, product design, or website design, plus other assets that help your marketing.” – Jason Byer

Jason adds that it doesn’t start with the initial push for marketing and visual branding. They also help with analyzing if what they implemented is effective, and do the required adjustments afterwards.

It is part of their commitment to helping business owners understand how to grow, and on the flip side, understand what could be hurting their ability to grow.

Jason Byer on the Definition of a Brand

Jason’s definition of a brand is as follows:

“A brand is the sum total of all the experiences that somebody has with your company.”  – Jason Byer

Some of those experiences, and oftentimes the first one clients and customer encounter are the visual experiences: the website, the content inside it, the images, and how everything is laid out. It acts as your initial interaction with your customer. So if customers do not like what they see, that’s already a bad first impression of your brand right from the start.

Reviewing Websites

The episode continues with Jaime and Jason reviewing websites and giving the points that they do well, and parts that they can improve on.

Jason talks about certain aspects that should be a priority when designing a great website. One of which is everything “above the fold”, which is the content that the site visitors immediately see when it first loads up.

It is important to get that part looking visually appealing, as it can decide whether someone will continue engaging with your website or not. At the same time, cramming in too much information in that small area can also lead to a cluttered and information overload for the visitor.

About Jaime Jay

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He's a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that's just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He's the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book "Quit Repeating Yourself" has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he's not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress.

He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater.

He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
