So if you want to learn more about how you can follow your passion and still be of service to others, stay tuned to this episode.

Who is Matt Cubbler?

Matt starts the conversation with how the current situation has impacted a lot of small businesses.

While business still continued for Matt and his team, it has been quite a struggle, what with having to worry about getting sick and missing targets. But at the very least, they weren’t losing sleep on where their next paycheck would be coming form, which couldn’t be said for a lot of business, especially during midway 2020.

But this sudden change of pace also gave Matt time to evaluate many things in his life, and in the business side of things as well.

Making the Business Pivot

Which was not to say everything was just another day at work. In the beginning of the pandemic, Matt was forced to close down his business that he has run for almost 11 years, due to restrictions. It was a very hand-on approach in assisting people in recovery and training, so contact could not be avoided.

Eventually, this lead him to think of new ways that he could help these people, even if they weren’t able to personally assist them. So he got to developing a new technology for gym and training equipment that could do just that.

“2020 allowed us to actually apply for another patent and develop a new piece of technology while there was no um rush to sell anything because nobody was buying. But what is more importantly for me was that I gained 50-60 hours a week of freedom that I didn’t have before.” – Matt Cubbler

Learning to Slow Down to Speed Up

Having those extra 50-60 hours extra was weird for Matt, at first. Mostly, he didn’t know what to do with the extra time he sudden has on his hands.

At first it was very awkward; I did not know how to not be going 110 hours a week. It felt like part of my body was missing – it was almost like when you lose a limb and you have phantom leg. I had these phantom 60 hours. My brain and body were still moving during these periods, even if I didn’t need to.” – Matt Cubbler

Matt had to learn how to slow things down again, as well as redirect some of those hours to new passions or dare he say it, some actual leisure time. But overall, it gave him time to focus more on how to improve their technology and business, instead of toiling away in other tasks.

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He's a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that's just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He's the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book "Quit Repeating Yourself" has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he's not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress.

He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater.

He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
