Career in Search Engine Optimization

Jeremiah Smith The Power of SEO for Your Website | Ep. 217Jeremiah has been in search engine optimization (SEO) for about 12 years. He entered the industry by building websites. One of his clients already had a great website but wanted to move forward by showing up on Google.

They acted like it was part of his job. That was when he discovered others doing SEO. He didn’t know how to do it back then but his clients gave him the opportunity to do it for them while he was learning it.

The Beginning of SimpleTiger

He fell in love with SEO because there were so many conclusions. There was so much utility for the website beyond simply building it. It was worth millions of revenue to the small companies that he was working with.

“I like the idea that SEO was so complex that if I could make the brand promise of making it simple for someone that might be something that causes people to buy more of it.” – Jeremiah Smith

That led him to start his company SimpleTiger. He wanted to focus on one thing and do it very well. The name Tiger came from the marketing concept of being unique and memorable.

SEO Essentials for Everyone

On-page and off-page SEO is critical for people to think about. On-page SEO is literally everything that happens on your website. Off-page-SEO is everything that happens outside of your website.

“The purpose of SEO is to optimize a website … to ultimately show up well for keyword searches that people might utilize in that specific search engine.” – Jeremiah Smith

On-page SEO contains technical aspects as well as content. The technical aspect pertains to the site structure — a site’s server configuration and the way it interacts with browsers.

It also pertains to the menu and navigation, site speed, and mobile responsiveness. All these aim to remove obstacles in order for search engines to easily access and understand the content.

About Jaime Jay

Meet Jaime Jay – a man who wears many hats, and wears them all admirably. He's a master connector, an entrepreneur extraordinaire, and a published author who knows how to get things done.

Before he found his way to the business world, Jaime served his country as a brave paratrooper in the U.S. Army. But that's just the beginning of his many accomplishments.

He's the founder of the renowned Bottleneck Distant Assistant Services firm, and his book "Quit Repeating Yourself" has become a must-read for entrepreneurs everywhere.

When he's not busy building his empire, you can find him on his beloved Harley Davidson, cruising through the countryside and taking in the invigorating effects of Uitwaaien – a Dutch practice that involves facing the wind to boost health and relieve stress.

He enjoys spending his free time outside building stuff with his wife, Nikita the dog and their two kittens (for now at least) Tommy and Tater.

He is ‘over-the-moon’ happily married to his wonderful wife Sara, his amazing daughter, Jessica, who is serving our country as a United States Army soldier. Jaime and Sara are the proud grand parents of two beautiful little girls.
